Re-Elect TONY BARLOW for CVP

Tony's Bio

Tony is a Husband and a loving Father to three daughters and a son. Tony started his career with CWA in 2012. He was hired on as a wire tech for AT&T in 2007. He became a job steward in 2012. He served his first term as CVP for CWA Local 3204 in 2017 and reelected in 2020. Tony hold numerous union positions outside of CWA. He established working relationships with local, state and national political officials. Tony is running for re-electionfor CVP for CWA Local 3204. He is supported by the current E-Board, job stewards and hundreds of coworkers.

In 2007 Tony was hired with AT&T to become a premises technician. He father told him to join the union when he starts but unbeknownst to them that position was a non unionized positions. His starting pay rate was 14hr. There was promises was made about pay that wasn’t kept. He was told that he will be at max pay in 6 months based on performance metric but Tony only received a 1 dollar raised. Max pay at the time was 17.47 per hr.  Weekly he watched his coworkers get terminated. He never had a weekend off without taking a full week of vacation.  Tony was coming to work on his off days by mistake due to the heavy work load. It was normal for him to get off at midnight. Tony worked from 8am until his manager told him he could go home. He had to do this so he didn’t get in terminated so he could continue to provide for his children.  The culture and treatment they received was horrific, but nothing could be done because they was non unionized. In 2008 Tony tried to finish his masters degree and wanted to use AT&T tuition reimbursement to help with the cost. That reimbursement was denied.  Tony was told he didn’t have time to go to school and work. Tony received max pay by 2009. Again that max pay was 17.47. He did not receive another raised until 2012. In 2009 Tony and his coworkers was fed up. They spoke with numerous CWA leaders to unionized the premise tech position. Tony started organizing his coworkers and the coworkers he knew out of state.  In 2012 the Premises tech position finally became unionized with a contract with CWA. His coworkers wanted him to be their job steward, so Tony attended his locals union meetings and spoke with the local’s president about what he needed to do to become a job steward. President Walter D Andrews certified Tony and others as Job Stewards. Unfortunately a few them had different agendas and went to management. Tony stood strong because he loves his union. He continued to sacrifice until this day for the membership. Tony accomplishment makes him the most qualified to run for this position.
